The Power of Tele-Healthcare
Throughout the pandemic, healthcare had to adapt more dramatically than any other industry. The rapid and widespread adoption of telehealth has enabled life-saving procedures and appointments, while protecting our healthcare providers. However, telehealth is a luxury, one which relies on a strong and reliable Internet connection.
The pandemic led to a 78 times greater utilization of telehealth, nearly overnight, the American healthcare system evolved. This has benefited the American public, who have seen greater prescription adherence and better medical outcomes with telehealth enabled. As great as this technology is, as long as millions of Americans live on the wrong side of the digital divide, telehealth cannot be taken for granted.
The 12 GHz bands could play a crucial role in bringing a strong, reliable network to more Americans than ever before. A network run through the upper and lower 12 GHz spectrum bands would be even more powerful and efficient, making it easier for patients to access essential healthcare services. The 12 GHz bands are the best positioned mid-band spectrum bands for immediately increased deployment, not having any federal encumbrances or requiring an FCC auction.
12 GHz would do more than just improve our Internet speed, it would free up necessary resources for a crucial national industry, ensuring that all patients have access to essential healthcare services, regardless of their location or level of connection.
